Our little sweetheart

It's tax time again! Greg had a little help from our little tax deduction! She loved playing in the boxes and receipts!

A future accountant?? Daddy hopes so!

Opening Valentine's Day gifts from Grandmama and Grandpapa...She loved her Valentine dress, bib, and bus!

Grammy and Granddaddy chose great Valentine's presents for Grace, too. Grace loved her new clothes. She loves anything with polka dots! Uncl Chris picked out the perfect stuffed animal bear for Grace. He's so soft and cuddly!

Grace relaxing in her robe early one Saturday morning...
The real story is Grace's diaper leaked and made a yucky mess. Instead of changing her again after a bath and breakfast, we let her chill!

Grace had a great first Valentine's Day. She had several heart themed outfits that she wore leading up to V Day. Here's a glimpse at our sweetheart in the days leading up to Heart Day! Note the tutu that Greg and I made for her...she loved it!!!

Here is a picture of Grace riding in a shopping cart for the first time. She reaaly does a great job...but the sun was in her eyes.

After leaving Tarhet we took her to the park to play. This was her first time to Elm St Park. She had a ball playing and looking at the other children. This is why we had such a time geting her to look at the camera!!

Praising God for Grace

This week we had a big scare, but God provided! On Monday afternoon (just minutes before 5), my dad was changing Grace's diaper and found some blood in her urine. This is the only time we found any blood and Grace was acting great as usual. I immediately called her peditician and eventually made an appt for 5:50 at the night clinic. We were blessed with their first appt, so we didn't have to wait or be around sick folks. She weighed 18 lbs. 7 oz. (she gained 3 oz from Thursday--we had a consultation w/ the dr about eating and sleeping patterns!) and was flashing million dollar smiles---until the in/out catheter. She was so not a fan! After numerous calls to the dr's offices, we found out this afternoon that everything looked great and no cultures grew. Yeah!! We think it must've just been a broken blood vessel or something- as we do have a very busy little girl! So- this good news just makes us so thankful. We appreciate all of the many prayers on her (and our) behalf.

Here's what's been going on with Grace lately-
She enjoys snuggling with Mama (&Daddy)on her Boppy- The blanket was made for Grace by her Great Grandma Modlin.

She likes to get into the rocking chair for a minute

She wears animal print well!

Check out her cute little black patten leather shoes. I'm so thrilled that she can wear them as they are mine that I wore when I was her age! Thanks Mom for keeping them for us!

Grace is going to be such a climber---here's proof!

Will Grace love pizza when she gets older...just like Mom and Dad? She loves Elmo's pizza at least!

Greg's Birthday

Greg turned 36 on last Friday, Jan. 23. He had 3 days of celebrations for his birthday. On Friday for lunch Grace and I met him at Pizza Inn. For dinner, Greg's parents babysat Grace and he and I went to see a movie (Bride Wars) and went to eat afterwards at Basil's. Then, he opened some presents and we had yummy lemon cake with buttercream icing. He loved having some help opening gifts and blowing out the candles!

Grace gave Daddy pajamas so he could wear something new to snuggle with her when she awakes at 4 am!!!
Since everything goes into Grace's mouth...this present was no exception. When I wrapped it, she went right over and placed it in her mouth. It was so sweet that I couldn't re-wrap it, despite the hole she made!
Watching Greg open presents!
It's a belt!
A new collared shirt for work.

On Saturday we went to Jamesville for lunch. We had pizza to celebrate Greg's birthday and to exchange presents with Greg's dad. Greg's cake was a delicious lemon torte cake decorated in yellow and white. Greg's dad's first "Happy Birthday Grandpa" card!

Grace playing with Grammy.

The birthday celebrations continued on Sunday. We went to Fuquay to visit my parents and Greg got more presents and another cake. We enjoyed eating the white cake with the frosting. It reminded us of a giant party square!
A family portrait.
A wreath personalized for Greg's birthday...with noisemakers, stickers, etc!

It's a gift certificate to eat at 2nd Empire in Raleigh for Valentine's Day! (I'm so glad Greg had a birthday!!!)
