Busy Bees

We've had another fun-filled week...
On Monday night Grace and Greg had some father-daughter time as Johnna went to BUNCO!! Grace started on sweet potatoes (which she LOVES, by the way)and Greg was sweet enough to take pictures so I wouldn't miss anything!

On Tuesday Grace and Johnna hosted a playgroup for "crawlers and under"...our first ever!! There were five mommies and five babies that joined us! We played upstairs in the bonus room and served apple juice, cinnamon rolls, and sugar cookies to our guests (well, to the mommies!) Grace really enjoyed herself and skipped her morning nap, but made up for it by sleeping 3 and a half hours afterward!




On Wednesday night after dinner Grace wanted a little dessert, in the form of her toes on her left foot! She frequently lies on the floor and eats her feet, but this is the first time she ate them in the highchair!!

On Thursday Grace was battling a runny nose and did a lot of sleeping all day. Once Greg got home from work we wanted to try to keep her up...but Grace had other plans. She was so sleepy that she laid her head down on her turtle toy and used it like a pillow!

After Grace went to sleep, I did some undwinding by working on some sewing projects. Now that the room is clean again (if even for a very short time:) Greg insisted on taking a picture!

Shopping and Eating

It seems like Grace's last few days have consisted of shopping and eating (and sleeping)!! On Friday we went shopping at the Christmas Show with Grandmama. We had a great time spending time together. After the busy day of Christmas shopping, Grandmama and Grace posed for some pictures.



Last night we fed Grace her carrots. She thinks they are so yummy...but oh boy are they messy! We get them all over her clothes and we've learned the hard way that carrots stain (as does squash!) So, we found it necessary to take her clothes off for feeding.


And we were glad we did!

On Saturday, we went shopping with Granddaddy and Grammy and Uncle Chris. Grace had fun once again. She loves shopping. It's very likely that her first words will be, "Charge it!"

The Sweetest Strawberry

Halloween was such a treat this year. In the past, we celebrated just on October 31, but this year has proven to be a whole week event! On Monday, Grace dressed up and went to a Halloween party. On Thursday, she went to Jamesville in her costume to see Greg's parents, Uncle Chris, and Grandma Modlin and Aunt Alice Ruth (who has a strawberry farm!). On Friday Daddy was off from work again, so he enjoyed posing for a picture with her in her Halloween jammies.
We ran lots of errands and went to our BRAND NEW Fresh Market and then came home to carve our pumpkins. Every year I wanted to carve up our pumpkins, but Greg wasn't too keen on it! But, this year he was all for it (wonder why!!) He was so into it that he carved not one, but two! Grace and I lent helping hands (well, at least watchful eyes)!



We think it turned our great!

For the carving of the second pumpkin, Grace and I were banished from the garage so that Daddy could create a secret masterpiece. When he brought it in I was speechless (I know that's hard to believe!!) I couldn't believe how wonderful and special his creation was! Trick or treaters commented on it all night!


While Greg was on his secret carving mission, Grace and I cooked up our annual Halloween themed dinner. This year we had Jack-o-lantern pizza and Halloween cupcakes. She was just wishing she could dive in!


After we all ate dinner, (Grace had to settle for garden peas!) Grace was transformed into the sweetest strawberry ever! Here are just a few of the pictures (we took over 50 pictures just on Halloween Day!



The strawberry seemed to enjoy seeing all of the trick-or-treaters that came to our door. She especially liked watching her friend Wyatt who was dressed like a monkey! Handing out candy to the 21 trick-or-treaters really wore her out. So, she was asleep when cousin Robyn came by to see her.


We couldn't let Halloween pass us by without her having a chance to trick-or-treat! So, we went to Rob and Joan's and she was treated with a precious flower taggie rattle. She has played with it constantly since then!

All of the excitement made her hungry...

and then very sleepy again.

On Saturday, we headed to Fuquay to visit Grandmama and Grandpapa and later go to Uncle Kenneth's 60th birthday surprise party. Grace enjoyed knocking on the door and waiting to give them their treat. She was given a bag full of goodies and two Halloween books to share with Mommy and Daddy.





Great Grandma Moore loved the strawberry, too, and the present Grace gave her!



Grace spent the rest of her day being pulled in the wagon by Grandpapa. (Notice the special padding he made so that the wagon would be Grace-ready!) Then, she wen to the birthday party and fell fast asleep. This picture is proof that she has all four of her grandparents wrapped around her fingers.

Move over Beethoven!

We have a budding pianist on our hands! She sat down with Greg to play a Raffi song. We checked out One Light, One Sun a few weeks ago at the library so that Daddy could play the song for her on the piano. She enjoyed listening and playing the piano herself! What great posture!!

Peanuts and Candy Corn

Tonight one of Greg's favorite cartoons was on..."It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"! He's been waiting a long time to watch it with his child and this was the year! Grace enjoyed sitting in Daddy's lap to watch the classic.

Grace also found a table just her size (well...it used to be a footstool!)
