A Pumpkin for our Pumpkin!

This morning we slept in until 8:30 to recover from 2 in-the-middle-of-the-night feedings & multiple paci replacement ups and downs! Then, while I fed Grace oatmeal (which she really likes in comparison to the rice cereal!) and played with her, Greg finished our yard work by putting out 20 bales of pine straw. By the time all of that was accomplished, we went out to lunch and then headed to Briley's Farm to get our pumpkins! We were so excited to take Grace out there. Greg commented that we've been out there so many times before (we usually do the 3+ mile corn maze) with other people, but never with our daughter. We had a special day of choosing pumpkins, looking at the animals (goats, sheep, peacocks, etc), and taking advantage of all the fall-themed photo opportunities! Here's a glimpse into our day!


This height chart will likely become an annual tradition! Her bow puts her well over 2 feet tall!

New shoes and a book

Grace and I stayed in today, so tonight we were getting our shoes on for a dinner out with friends. The jeans outfit just screamed for tennis shoes. These are the first tennis shoes she's worn! She looks so grown up in her jeans and shirt and tiny sneakers!

Before leaving for dinner, we had a few minutes to spare. Perfect for listening to Daddy read a fall-time story! Greg read to her while I was pregnant, so she loves hearing him read to her now that she's on the outside, too!

Raspberries with Daddy

Daddy stayed with Grace this morning and taught her a new trick!! Grace started doing raspberries! She's puckers her lips out so far and the spit comes flying! She looks so adorable doing it! Enjoy the picture and the video!

Birthdays and Bows!

What an exciting week so far! Tuesday was Grandmama's birthday! (We won't say the number!! Ha! Ha!) In lieu of a birthday cake, we had birthday fruit!
On the edible arrangement was a birthday balloon, which you can see who took a liking to it! Needless to say, the balloon didn't go home with Grandmama! Grace loved playing with it and using the back of it for a mirror! In fact, they bought her another mylar balloon...an orange Jack-o-lantern! She loves that one, too!



For Grandmama's birthday, we went to Cary to go to a bow making class. We learned how to make a bubble bow, a basic bow, and a rag pony tail holder! It was so much fun...but I have a lot of practicing to do! I'm looking forward to making many, many more! Here are a few pictures of Grace sporting my creations! She may have to grow into her bows!!!!!!

Homecoming

Today held another 1st for Grace...her first Homecoming at our church. Greg was a bit of a Baby Hog!! He enjoyed holding her most of the time and walking her around while she garnered many compliments. She loved being made over! Here's a picture of the Homecoming Duo! Be sure to check out the tiny patin leather shoes that we squeezed her little chunk feet into!!

There was also a ton of great food and desserts there. Grace really acted like she wanted to eat them all! Next year, Grace! Here's a close-up picture of her in her Sunday best.

Tea Time

Grace has a tea-themed Exersaucer that we received at one of our showers and we put her in it today! She absolutely loved it! She had a great time listening to the teapot sing and steam, spinning the toys, and eating them, too!





As you can tell from the picture, Grace was trying to stand up while she was playing! She was pushing her little body up so she could reach all of her toys! Her bottom wasn't even touching the seat! She was so precious!

Quite a reader

While we were relaxing Saturday morning (before doing yard work), Grace enjoyed wearing her robe and bunny slippers! Mommy was reading a newsletter and Grace decided she would read it, too! Then, we went outside and Grace slept in her stroller for a long time while we worked in the yard. She did a great job!
