Grace's First Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day was on Saturday this year. It proved to be a big day for us! That morning we gave Grace her Valentine's presents before going to the Raleigh area. She received a musical Valentine's book with a slot for her photo...she loves it! She also got a computer program since she loves Mommy's comuter so much! She even took my "caps lock" right off the computer once!!!!

Before heading to Ms. Rudy's for her annual Valentine's Day tea party, we met Grandmama and Grandpapa at Applebee's in Knightdale for lunch. Grace had a very special Valentine's Day gift for them. She presented a large frame entitled "Grandchildren", which contained two 5x7s of herself and two 5x7s announcing the upcoming arrival of her baby brother or sister!!!!!!! The grandparents were so mesmerized by Grace's pictures that it took a few moments to realize what was written in the remaining two photo slots! It was Grandpapa who first noticed the news! We made quite a spectacle of ourselves in the restaurant. Grandmama and Grandpapa told everyone they saw in the restaurant that they were having another grandchild. What a very exciting lunch!

After a quick trip to Target to look at what else but baby items, we went to Ms.Rudy's and Mr. David's house. They were very surprised and thrilled about our news, too!

Later that night, we went out to a very special Valentine's dinner at 2nd Empire in Raleigh. This was a birthday gift to us (well, Greg!) from Johnna's parents. We had wonderful food and a great time relaxing while we ate.

On Sunday after church we headed to Jamesville to tell Greg's family the big news. They couldn't believe the news either! Greg's mom was holding the frame so it was oriented toward her. It also took her a few moments to read the news! After her gasp, she turned the frame so that Greg's dad could see it. They were stunned, but very excited about having another grandchild.

We then went to Grandma Modlin's to share our joy! Grace enjoyed being held and playing with the singing spider. The whole town of Jamesville was aware of our announcement before nightfall!
