Move over Beethoven!

We have a budding pianist on our hands! She sat down with Greg to play a Raffi song. We checked out One Light, One Sun a few weeks ago at the library so that Daddy could play the song for her on the piano. She enjoyed listening and playing the piano herself! What great posture!!

Peanuts and Candy Corn

Tonight one of Greg's favorite cartoons was on..."It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"! He's been waiting a long time to watch it with his child and this was the year! Grace enjoyed sitting in Daddy's lap to watch the classic.

Grace also found a table just her size (well...it used to be a footstool!)

Precious Candy Corn

Better late than never...
I started making a candy corn Halloween dress for Grace and just finished it this morning. We'll get as much wear out of it as possible! Be sure to see the great coordinating bow that my friend Shannon made for Grace just days befor her second son, Aidan, was born!!! Well...we're off to Kindermusik!

Halloween Princess

Today we dressed Grace for church in her "Halloween ball gown" as Greg calls it! Grandmama and Grandpapa couldn't pass this dress up when they saw it at the store! Grace looked so pretty, but of course we're biased!

Since the dress has ribbons on it, I had to try my hand at making a coordinating hair bow. I certainly had fun making it!

After church and lunch we decided to go and vote. Our "Halloween princess" got to go with us, but slept through most of it! She has enjoyed looking at and touching our "I Voted Today" stickers! (We had to take a self portrait...we tried to get Grace to take our photo, but she wasn't interested.)

Make way for Green Beans!

Today at lunch we started Grace on baby food! She had green beans and really seemed to enjoy them...although she made some funny, funny faces! She didn't eat the entire container, but we had a good start. Here's a picture of Grace awaiting the yummy beans while talking with Daddy.

Down the hatch.

Check out Grace's funny faces.

All done. Look at the mess we made!

When Greg put the green beans in the fridge for later, he got so excited that "Grace now has food in the refridgerator!" So, of course, I asked him to get a picture.

A night out!

Greg and I went to a wedding reception in Wilson (about 45 minutes away) for a co-worker of Greg's. We went to the dinner reception while Greg's parents and Chris stayed with Grace. She had fun playing and resting, and we had fun celebrating with Claudia and Viv. It was nice to get all dressed up (a feeling Grace knows each day!!) It was a great evening.

Our Grace

Yesterday Grace wore the cutest pink dress and tights! She laid in her crib to look at her mobile and the moments had to be captured on film!! Like most children, she loves things that move and things that make music!

This morning Grace woke up at 2 and then again at about 6:30 and was up for the day! So, we decided to watch some cartoons together and just relax. She enjoys watching the 7 Up can. We bet she wishes she could drink it all gone!

A Week of Fun!

We've been busy this last week. We went to see Grandmama and Grandpapa for the weekend. When we arrived Friday night, Grace played hard and showed off her new skill of sitting down.

Here Grace is sitting, with help!

Whee!

Here she goes! Tim-ber!

Whew! This is more like it!

Boy, does sitting makes Grace tired!

She loved playing with Grandmama with her new toy...a remote control! With it's help, she can learn to count in French and Spanish! Educational and fun...what a toy!

On Saturday, Grace had so much fun staying with her grandparents as Greg and I had a date at the NC State Fair! We had so much fun and felt like teenagers again...but we missed Grace soooo much! She kept busy playing and visiting with Uncle Kenneth, Aunt Kay, Cousin Corrie, and Tiny Cousins Jenna and Lauryn, and Mrs. Lynda. On Sunday, we went to Homecoming at Kennebec and since it was so cold, Grace had to wear tights. They were quite fun to put on!

This week, we've just been laying low. I had a bad cold/fever stuff and didn't feel well at the beginning of the week. So, she enjoyed being with Grandmama and Grandpapa and Grammy and Chris (and of course Daddy!) But today we made up for lost time! We enjoyed some snuggle time this morning.
Could it be naptime already?

Then we met Cousin Robyn for lunch. We had a great time catching up with her and then ran some errands. Before going to sleep tonight, Grace played very hard. She has some new toys and is breaking them in well!

Grace and Greg enjoy "rougher" activities and Grace LOVES it! She laughs so hard when Greg flies her through the air!

Grace has a love affair with Elmo. How precious! She was with us at Target when we bought him. I was just getting him off the shelf to show him to her and she reached for it! I was attempting to put Elmo back, but Greg said that if she loved him that much, she had to bring him home! Grandmama says her eyes light up when she sees Elmo...what do you think?<

Learning to Sit and Jump!

Today was exciting for Grace...she sat by herself for the first time and we were at Kindermusik. AND it was on her 5 month birthday!!! She still has to use her hands to stabilize herself and won't let go to play with toys, but it's a great start! She looks like a big girl now! Check out the pictures of her sitting alone and with Daddy!

Later on, we put her in Jenny Jump-Up for the first time. She jumped around a little, but really enjoyed twisting herself and turning side to side! She LOVED it!! She took a break from the activity to pose from some pictures.

A Pumpkin for our Pumpkin!

This morning we slept in until 8:30 to recover from 2 in-the-middle-of-the-night feedings & multiple paci replacement ups and downs! Then, while I fed Grace oatmeal (which she really likes in comparison to the rice cereal!) and played with her, Greg finished our yard work by putting out 20 bales of pine straw. By the time all of that was accomplished, we went out to lunch and then headed to Briley's Farm to get our pumpkins! We were so excited to take Grace out there. Greg commented that we've been out there so many times before (we usually do the 3+ mile corn maze) with other people, but never with our daughter. We had a special day of choosing pumpkins, looking at the animals (goats, sheep, peacocks, etc), and taking advantage of all the fall-themed photo opportunities! Here's a glimpse into our day!

This height chart will likely become an annual tradition! Her bow puts her well over 2 feet tall!

A fall-time family portrait! We just had to show off her jack-o-lantern shirt, Halloween bow, black pants, and jack-o-lantern shoes!

Doesn't this jack-o-lantern have the cutest nose you've ever seen?!!!

Grace is admiring her pumpkin. It's sized especially for her!

Grace is sitting up like a big girl in her stroller...for the first time ever!

Grace and Mommy enjoying the wind. Grace is trying to get used to the wind and snorts whenever she gets a whiff of a wind gust! It's so cute!

Grace sitting with the pumpkins...with a little help from Daddy!

Daddy and Grace in front of the ECU ghosts and fall scenery.

Grace and Daddy posing by the mums.

At home relaxing on the coffee table!
