There's a whole lotta playing going on!

Grace has had a busy week of work...well, playing for her! She is now enjoying laying on her tummy and playing!

She also loves to play in her food!

Today was her first playgroup at the park after Kindermusik. I was so excited. I was looking forward to meeting other mommies and seeing Grace look at the other children. But, this is what she did the whole time we were there! Guess Kindermusik wore her out!

Cute clothes and a bow!

We're always amazed at how cute baby clothes are! But, of course, we think Grace looks precious in everything!! Yesterday she wore an outfit that Greg's Uncle Everett, Aunt Gayle, and Amy (his cousin) gave her. She really did look cute in the aqua leggings, white skirt (with a belt--a first for Grace!) and aqua/white/pink striped shirt.

Add a bow to the ensemble to get this grown-up look:

Mommy thought she'd wear a skirt to be like Grace, but the striped shirt just happened! Now all Mommy needs is a great pair of leggings and a bow!

She's gotta have jeans!

One day I told Greg that Grace was in desperate need of a pair of blue jeans. It just struck him as being hilarious that our 4 month old just HAD to have some jeans! So, we found them at Gymboree and she wore them for the first time last night. Isn't she precious in them??!!!!

However, what you didn't see was the struggle to get the jeans on. It was a bit tough to get them over her hips!! You see, she already had to lay down so it would be easier to get them on! A trick every woman has had to use, right?!!!!

It's Cereal Time!!!!!!!!

Grace had her 4 month well child visit and 2 shots (they were out of the 3rd one, so we'll get that one next time!) She stopped crying before we even had a chance to get her dressed! She's ready for cereal...we started it tonight as Greg wanted to be here when we started the solids!
READY!

SET!

GO!

AND I DON'T KNOW IF I LIKE IT!

BUT IT SURE IS MESSY!

Grace continues to grow...she is in the 50th %tile for weight as she weighs 13 lbs. 14 oz. She apparently has gotten VERY LONG!!! She is currently taking after Daddy in the Tall department...she is 25.5 inches long! That puts her in the 75th to almost 90th percentile! This totally surprised me! She can still wear some 0-3 month pants due to the length. So, we've concluded that she has shorter legs, but a long torso (just like Mommy!) Here's a picture of Grace with her Bugs Bunny bandaids covering up her wounds. Well, in the first picture we were trying to get Grace's bandaids, but she was moving, of course! Take Two at least showed one bandaid!!

Grace was such a trooper today and even felt like cuddling up with Mommy to read some great books!

More Fun from Grove Park Inn

We are having a great time and Grace continues to be a trooper! She really seems to enjoy being on the go! Here's a family photo with the Grove Park Inn as a backdrop. Yesterday we took her for her first visit to the playground. Who had more fun...Mommy, Daddy, or Grace?

See how curious Grace can be!!

She can also just sit back in her special chair and relax by watching tv!
Here are some views from our room. Pictures really don't do it justice!

Vacation at the Grove Park Inn

Yesterday we left Greenville at 10:30am and arrived at Grove Park in Asheville at 8:30pm! We didn't hurry, but took our time so that Grace could have lots of time out of the carseat during our stops. She did an awesome job and only needed me to ride with her for a small portion of the trip. This was Grace's first night in a hotel, and she slept well and didn't seem to miss a beat! She has enjoyed resort style accomodations. It's all downhill from here! We don't usually stay at 5 star resorts but her Daddy has a conference here every fall. This is my 6th time coming with Greg and the best by far as I have a little buddy to keep me company! Tomorrow, I'm heading to the spa for a much-loved pedicure. I hadn't planned on getting a spa treatment this year, but Greg surprised me by calling a few weeks ago and booked it for me. He said it was a present from Grace and that she would've scheduled it herself, but she couldn't get her words right!!! How sweet!

Here's Grace in one of her new fall outfits and new shoes...just relaxing on a leather sofa! We know her shoes are a little big right now...but she just had to wear them!!!!! I couldn't resist.

Grace's Special Day (for 2 reasons!!)

Today we had Grace's Baby Dedication service at church. It was such a great time and a beautiful service. We appreciate all of the loved ones that attended. Grace did such a good job and smiled so much while standing in front of the church. The preacher presented a great sermon on family values and all of the music was perfect for the occassion. Notice her outfit...Grandmama smocked her bonnet and dress and made her silk booties and her purse! Grace really loved the purse! Grammy and Granddaddy gave Grace her pretty gold necklace with a heart charm on it. She looked so pretty...take a look for yourself! After Grace's part of the service was over, she went fast asleep. What a dollbaby!

After lunch Grandmama was feeding Grace a bottle and looked in her mouth and found teeth! Yes...that's right...not a tooth, but teeth! She has 2 bottom teeth (while one of them is through further than the other) and 2 of her top teeth are seen under the skin. Look out food, here comes Grace!!

Stuck in the Sun!

Today we were out running our Saturday errands and confirming lunch plans for Grace's dedication. When we came out of the restaurant, my truck wouldn't start...wouldn't even budge! UGH!! So, in the blazing hot sun we stood. Originally there were cars parked on each side of us which would make jumping the car next to impossible. However, God was looking out for us, as one of the cars beside us left. Then, we hurled ourselves into the vacant spot so that when our friend Rob arrived, he could park in that spot.
While we were outside, Grace was looking cute in her shades. Evidently the sun wasn't too bad, because she'd rather play with her sunglasses than wear them!!

Our car hero (a.k.a. Rob) arrived to save the day!!!!! This is only about the millionth time he's helped us or Greg's brother, Chris, out of a car emergency! Luckily, the truck cranked quickly and we had no problems driving to the store to get a new one put in. If we had to have car trouble, we're so glad that it happened when and where it did!

Little Sailor Girl!

Grace got all dressed up today for a day out on the town! We had some unwelcomed pests (Ants) that were driven into the house since the Hannah storm last week. The exterminator came by today at noon and we had to vacate the house for 4 hours. So, we went to Barnes and Noble, Target, and of course, Hancock Fabrics. Then, we visited Daddy at work before going to dinner. Grace did a great job considering her morning and afternoon naps were interrupted! She's very sleepy tonight, but is still smiling and enjoying playing with Daddy.

What a big girl!

Just had to share this picture of Grace doing such a big girl thing...holding her bottle!

Twins for a Day!

Grace and Mommy were dressed alike for church today! In the close up pic you can see how we were both wearing outfits with pink/white gingham flowers and lime green accents!

After church we decided to play dress up and we both put on our heels! Aren't Grace's heels the cutest things EVER?!! They're called Heelarious! They came packaged in a clear box shaped like a purse.

Of course, Grace is more interested in eating her heels than in wearing them!

Laugh out loud!

I know we've already blogged once today, but we couldn't resist adding another entry. Tonight when we were doing Grace's bedtime routine, Greg started blowing on Grace's tummy and she laughed out loud! The video is really dark, but as long as the volume is turned up, you should be able to capture the essence of the cackles! It was so exciting! She kept on laughing for several minutes each time Greg would do his trick! She has been doing a slight giggle, but this was her first real laugh...Enjoy!!

Ready for School

Grace went to school yesterday...well, almost! She had her first Kindermusik class on Tuesday morning at 9:30. She loved it! She is the youngest child in her class, but enjoyed moving to the songs and looking at the other children. Her teacher is Ms. Nushia and she is great! She is so patient and has a lot of energy! We get our home packet next week, so watch out, Greg...nothing but kids songs in the car for sure now!!!

Here is the whole ensemble...the bib, diaper bag, dress, burp cloth, and diaper/wipe holder that we used for her "first day of school!" It's so fun making things for her...it's like dressing up a doll!

We'll try to post some pics soon of her on Labor Day. We had a picnic at Town Commons and walked through the park and down by the river. It was a great day to be outside. She wasn't a big fan of the bugs, though! She takes after Mommy for that one!
