Dots, Dots, Everywhere!

For church today Grace wore a dress Mommy made for her. Grace spent most of her day looking at the dots! It certainly kept her occupied at lunch at Olive Garden!

The pillowcase style dress has her initials on it, too!

Of course she had to have a matching bib and diaper bag!

Sleepy Head!

Grace LOVES her Baby Einstein jungle gym! She plays so hard kicking her legs, trying to pull up, attempting to make the toys move, and looking at herself in the mirror...

...that she became so tuckered out that she went to fast asleep right there!

Something to Cherish

We went to Jamesville on Sunday to visit Greg's family. We hadn't taken Grace to their church yet, so we went to the 11:00 service at Cedar Branch. Greg's mom and Chris cooked a great lunch for us and for Greg's aunt and uncle who just moved to NC from Texas this month. We're glad that they got to meet Grace for the first time! While we were there, we saw Greg's grandmother (who is 88!) who told Grace before we left that she had something for her. We knew that she had asked us a month or so ago about what colors she'd like for an afghan, but we had no idea she had worked on it, much less completed it!! Chris said that he went to see her one day and that she had one square done and the next time he went...it was finished!! Grace just looked at it and touched it. It was so sweet!!! The afghan is so beautiful and something Grace can use now and keep in the future.

New Furniture

We have a new baby and now we need new furniture! The two don't go together, do they?!! We had to open up our family room to give Grace more room to move since she's already rolling over. So we bought two new chairs, a coffee table, rug and 2 new end tables. We had to get rid of the glass tables for sure! We ordered the chairs sight unseen, but we're happy with the way everything looks.

We recently re-did our back porch, too. We made it into a 3 season porch. We have two new chairs and a new console table out there and added some antique pieces from Johnna's grandparents. It's so cozy and Grace seems to enjoy it, too!

We’ve had another great family day! Grace looked so precious in her outfit and pink sandals for church that we had to rush home and take her picture! We couldn’t resist!

This afternoon our friend Luann came over and brought her two little girls, Kendall and Katie. The girls were so good with Grace and enjoyed playing with the “baby doll!” Then we went to my old office and finished tying up loose ends. It’s such an odd feeling that teachers will be going back to work tomorrow and that this is the first year in 10 years that I won’t be at a school. I’m thrilled to be spending more time with Grace, but school is the only thing I’ve ever known.  After we got home, it was a little chilly so Greg and Grace wrapped up in a blanket to watch tv together. How cute!

Grace's day trip!

We decided to take Grace for a little road trip today! We went to Oriental, NC for the day. Oriental is a small village in Pamlico County about 1.5 hours from Greenville. Grace travelled well and seemed to enjoy the change in scenery! The town was so pretty and had a park that was perfect for enjoying the water views.

While taking a stroll through the town we saw many great houses and historical items of interest. One cool thing we saw was this concrete bench originally built around a well.

Of course we had to take time out of our day for Grace to have some "sea"food...or at least her version of it (aka milk!)

After a busy day of sightseeing Grace enjoyed relaxing by watching one of her favorite shows...Sesame Street. She is so captivated by it! She absolutely loves Mr. Rogers, Mickey Mouse, Sesame Street, and Super Why!!

Grace has really taken to sucking on her hands, mostly her thumb and pointer finger! (Bad news for Johnna as a Speech pathologist!! Ha! Ha! Ha!) but Grace is so cute doing it!! Sometimes she enjoys sucking on her hand and her pacifier at the same time!!

A Great Sunday

Grace went to the nursery for Sunday School and during the worship service (1st time!). She did a good job! Then, we ran lots of errands today after church and Grace got tuckered out! After her two hour nap in the car seat, she enjoyed chilling with Daddy on the couch and was caught sucking her thumb! As a speech pathologist I have tried hard to keep that thumb out of her mouth...but to no avail! She LOVES her hands (and her thumb!!!)

This is a picture of Grace relaxing on our new coffee table! Greg said it was worth getting the table just so she could lay there! She looked so pretty in her blue dress that we just had to get a picture! The bow and shoes were removed by Daddy earlier in the day!!

Roll, Grace, Roll!

Hi! We've had a great week so far! Grace continues to sleep very well and is so sweet! Everyday brings something new. Below is a clip of her rolling over!

Grace is enjoying some Daddy time....or is it Daddy who is enjoying Grace time?!!! They both look so happy!

Grace loves her swing! She will often sit in it while we eat dinner. She loves the music and the moving seat. Just this week she has taken a strong interest in watching the zebra and giraffe toys on the toy bar and on the dancing bears that are overhead.

Grace is quite a sleepy head. She gets so sleepy that she can sleep in any position! Check out her lips!

We enjoy dressing Grace up for church. Here is a picture from Sunday. Her cute little dress was a gift from cousins Trey and Kim and tiny cousins Avery and Layton!

This Week

Hi! This week marked a milestone for us! We've never personally driven a car to the big 100,000 miles mark. We were so excited that his Taurus made it to that point this week (What we didn't capture in the pic was the check engine light that's on!!!) Now if we can only get it to the 200,000 mile mark...

Daddy loves to soak up as much Grace time as possible! He took a few days off this week to spend with his "girls" and to get some things done around the house.

I love holding Grace and would do it all day every day if I could. She doesn't like to be held, can you tell??? Ha! Ha!

We love to walk with Grace. We usually take the stroller, but were going for a longer walk one night and tried her out in the Baby Bjorn. She LOVED it and even went to sleep! She's a fan of anything that keeps her close and cozy to people!

Queen for a day! Grace and I took our first road trip together on Thursday to Cary and Raleigh. We met Grandmama and Grandpapa at Burger King and Grandpapa insisted that she needed a crown!! How precious!
